After hiking the Martial mountain range, warm up in surprisingly sophisticated restaurants and casinos. The Maritime and Prison Museum reveals the town's fascinating evolution from penal colony to adventure hub. Winter brings excellent skiing at Glaciar Martial and Castor Mountain, while summer days stretch endlessly, perfect for exploring a place where maps literally run out of south.

"Gostei muito da hospedagem, tudo muito organizado e limpo alem dos quartos serem novos! Café da manhã é bem completo. Os funcionários foram muito simpáticos e sempre que precisei de alguma ajuda foram muito educado. Inclusive me indicou algumas coisas que gostei. Recomendo de olhos fechados e se eu voltar a Ushuaia, estarei ai novamente!!"

"Absolutely excellent hotel: Great staff; clean, comfortable rooms; wonderful restaurants; plenty of amenities; breathtaking views. I highly recommend Las Hayas Resort Hotel."

"A very good breakfast and a very welcome and kind staff"

"Todo el stuff fue muy amable,la ubicacion perfecta,el desayuno A1 ,la limpieza de los cuartos,lo recomiendo ,volveria a hospedarme ahi en mi proximo regreso ."

"This is a great hotel and stands out for it's service more than anything else. Without the service and attentiveness from the staff, this could easily be a 4 star review for me but the staff is excellent. Even in the restaurant they accommodate special requests for food without hesitation. In terms of planning, this hotel is not exactly in the main downtown but a little bit outside, their location is actually beautiful against the water and mountain backdrop. However the hotel has a shuttle service that serves the need. We tried the SPA and was generally good. Breakfast was average but for the Argentina standards (as we saw in other hotels), this can be called comparable. I just wish people would start using a bit more imagination for breakfast, if you are staying more than a couple of days, the breakfast will get very repetitive. For people who are hiking, you can utilize the sneakers cleaning service from the hotel laundry section, but plan in advance as they need 48 hours. "

"Habitaciones limpias, desayuno rico y muy serviciales, cerca de todo"

"The hotel amenities were excellent! The pool and sauna and gym especially. Very centrally located and great breakfasts"

"good price"

"We arrived on a Thursday, the hotel is so beautiful, awesome location, the staff was friendly, the breakfast was good, our room was beautiful, and we had a great view. We went to bed around midnight and starting hearing music. Very loud music. I have a white noise generator and put it right next to my ear but still I could still hear it. It went on until 5 am. The next day I asked if we could change rooms because of the music being so loud and the lady said we could but we would still hear it. She said it was a disco/ bar that was nearby. I read in the reviews that there was street noise but nothing about live music that you could "feel" the thump of the bass drum and bass guitar. Surprisingly, Friday there was no music and we slept well even with the occasional loud motorcycle or truck. Saturday night around midnight we got into bed and around 12:30 a band started playing and did not stop until almost 6am. Loud unrelenting music again. We checked out the next morning as planned totally tired from lack of sleep, which made for a long travel day. So, if you can't sleep with loud music, don't stay there. Otherwise it's an awesome hotel. P.S. I am also hard of hearing and wear hearing aids."
