I recently stayed at the Flamingo Motel for two nights and unfortunately, it was not a pleasant experience. Despite the motel’s decent location in Ocean City, the customer service ruined the experience for us.
Upon arrival, our room wasn’t ready for the promised 4pm check-in time, and it seemed like we weren’t the only ones experiencing this delay. Several customers were left waiting for their rooms. There was no manager to help with this situation. Once we did get access to our room, there were only two towels for a room that could accommodate up to five people.
The check-in process itself was also frustrating. There was no clear communication about the privacy lock on the door, and we ended up getting locked out of our room that created inconvenience. On top of that, housekeeping ignored the “Do Not Disturb” sign, and I was rudely awakened at 8am by a housekeeper attempting to enter our room.
To make matters worse, I couldn’t get in touch with the manager and there was no posted schedule or contact information, and even Hotels.com couldn’t reach them on my behalf. It felt like customer service was completely lacking at this motel.
Overall, my stay at Flamingo Motel was disappointing. While the location was decent, the lack of communication, poor housekeeping practices, and lack of support from management make it hard to recommend. I hope the motel addresses these issues in the future.
