Our housekeeper was very clean and efficient. We loved the bar area and we were grateful that we got to move to a better room with the view we wanted. The bellman was very helpful and friendly.we have stayed at Royal Kona many times, but it needs some painting and general upkeep in the room a bit.

So, for what hotel is it was great! The staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel is in great need of updating, but was clean enough (room wise). The desk clerk was amazing and let us check in early so we could freshen up for the luau. We had breakfast in the morning and it was so beautiful to watch the waves and dolphins while eating pretty good food. Its not a luxury hotel, but i would stay again for a few days as it was convenient to things to do and clean and a safe place

Food was great. Place is old and outdated. Views nice but not exactly as shown on web… a corner oceanfront room isn’t at all like the pics depict. Luau was terrible! Worst one we’ve ever seen… a joke really and not worth the expensive ticket prices.

Five stars for the category it’s in—not because it’s a luxury resort, but because it was absolutely perfect for us. The ocean view was one of the best I’ve ever seen, the resort was small, comfortable and relaxing, and the service was excellent. The rooms are a little dated, but we loved our stay and will 100% be back.
