Not the best....
Not a good experience. The television, the coffee maker, and most the lamps didn't work. There were ants in the bathroom and the toilet seat was not properly secured. Very noisy hotel.

There was a mouse running around in my bathroom when I woke up to use it in the middle of the night. The light and headboard looked like they had been scratched by a large animal. I checked in online with a deposit and they asked for another check in and deposit when I arrived.

The hotel was very old … The elevators were not working none of them. My toilet wasn’t working. None of the ice machines were working on none of the floors we had to take the service elevator upstairs. I was on the fifth floor, and my mother was on the sixth floor by the ice machine on the sixth floor, they had an army of ants crawling all over the place. I was very dissatisfied and displeased. They said we would get free breakfast and they charge for the breakfast. I would never come back to this place ever again and I would really want a full refund because we only stayed one night but it was not good at all. I went there because my son was graduating from college. This was a very terrible experience for me my daughters and my mother.

Good for the price
Hotel was good for the price. My room was clean with the exception of an open bar of soap in the shower. Staff in the lobby was very attentive. The breakfast for purchase had SOOOO much food for only $10, I split it and saved some for later which helped keep my travel costs down. Hotel was very quiet in Mid January so I don’t think there were many guests.

Ok stay, but breakfast was not included. They wanted to charge $11 for a mediocre breakfast buffet. Broken elevator, long wait times etc. one room had a towel over the smoke alarm. I would not recommend.

The property was being transitioned from a Holiday Inn to Wyndham property. Housekeeping did not come once during our stay, and our room did not have any soap – hand or body. The bathrooms were dirty, and there were no USB plugs to charge phones or medical equipment. The only good things are that the beds were comfortable and the front desk staff was very friendly.

DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY!!!
The night crew is terrible!! Due to a long drive in check in was late. Upon arrival, I'm greeted with the sight of the staff sitting on the desk and hanging out in the lobby. Now, I'm notified that the guest elevator is broken, but I can use to the staff elevator. This elevator looks like The Tower of Terror Elevator at Disney. So now I'm left to climb 6 flights with my younger siblings and all of our belongings @ 2am. Now I have arrived @ the room and guess what...Yep you got it, it's dirty. Hair and soap in the shower, dirty linens ( on a made bed mind you). When asked about switching was told no availability, but will send someone to clean the room. Ok so let's fast forward to 8am next day, no one has cleaned this room. I just drove 12 hrs and couldn't sleep nor wash my body!!! Talked to manager, which was very apologetic and surprised at my experience. Was reassured he was sending someone right away. So now it's 12 noon, my siblings and I have things to do, but remember no one was able to cleanse themselves. So long story short, lol, my siblings ended up staying somewhere else because I wasn't going to have them in this dirty room for a week.

Nice upgrades but ghosted at breakfast
We had stayed at this property previously and were happy to see the upgrades! The only disappointment was breakfast. We needed to leave town fairly early so we wanted to get breakfast immediately when it opened at 6 AM. We went for breakfast about 610 and no one was to be found. Waited around about five or 10 minutes and still no one around to attend to us for breakfast so eventually left and just went for fast food. A little disappointing.

The staff was so unprofessional. I walked in to check in and they’re blaring rap music. I had no idea who the receptionist was as he was standing on the other side of the counter singing and dancing. I requested late check out. Verified it at check in and received a PHONE CALL at 10am as a “reminder that check out is at 11” when I stated I had late check out the lady on the phone said “and who verified that” when I said the person who checked me in she demanded I describe them so she could contact them and reprimand them. The place was dirty. Room signs broken off and all over the floor.

Do not stay at this Wyndham
I was very unhappy and unimpressed with this Wyndham. We tried to meet with the manager for a discount 3 different times. Once was when we checked in. He was nowhere to be found. His front desk people were calling him and could not find him. We went back the next morning. Again, the manager was nowhere to be found. We tried before leaving for the afternoon and again, no one could locate the manager. When he got back late evening, a manager was available. We did not receive the discount.
We asked for help with our bags and no one could help us. They provided an office cart (not a luggage cart) for me to navigate and fill and take to my room.
The elevators were out and we have to use the service elevators. We trapsed through the offices and heard an employee yelling at their manager on the first night. It was also very warm in the lobby, the offices and the service area. Our room a/c wasn't working properly & the engineer was unavailable for our entire stay to fix ours (and other customers).
The room was clean. Most of the staff were helpful and courteous. One staff entered the lobby cussing & upset and yelling.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It looked unkempt throughout and run down. It is not a Wyndham standard, especially for the price.
We spoke to other customers and they were very unhappy and were going to make calls to complain once they were home. For a $300/night hotel stay, this was not up to par at all. If I could have left, I would have.

A Solid Option for Downtown Rochester
It’s a little run down. One of the two elevators wasn’t working, but the one that did work was super fast. Some places look like they’re falling apart (ceiling tiles in the bathroom, for example), but the rest of the room and amenities were super. The bathroom was clean, the room was clean, the beds were clean and comfy. So if you can get past seeing things that aren’t pristine, this place is comfortable and at a great price!
I do want to take a moment to brag about Mark (and the cook, never got his name) in restaurant. We decided to eat dinner in on our final night and they bent over backwards for us. (Thanks, Mark!!). The cook even made something for me that wasn’t listed on the menu, and it was outstanding. So don’t write off the prospect of eating in the restaurant down in the lobby.
There was a little mix up with billing (essentially, their “system” billed us twice), but after talking with the manager on duty, he sorted it all out and by the time we checked out the issue was resolved. Thankful for management that went above and beyond to tackle this for us.
Overall, we had a great time in Rochester (son had an audition at Eastman) and the proximity to everything was convenient.
