The Heights is a star.
Great place to stay. Pretty quiet in the room and very comfortable with being able to control the thermostat. The Heights is a great place to hang out, have drinks or food, and look out over the river and downtown. I planned to stay for two nights and wound up staying four. The valet parking is a bit questionable considering the vehicle may only be parked a few yards from the entrance, but it's a $32 a day convenience. There are in and out privileges but I didn't need them since when I got back to the hotel I didn't have a reason to leave. I'd definitely stay here again.

Nice room
Room was nice and comfortable and clean.
The parking is the worst set-up I’ve ever seen in my life , and the parking deck, a block away, has little to no directions on how to get to the hotel!

5 stars
This is an amazing hotel and experience. Valet parking is $28, or self park in the hotel's own garage is only $8, with an underground connecting tunnel. I can't overstate how much we enjoyed our stay. Every room has an interesting view of the river and city. Our room was tidy and updated, the shower was amazing, and the mattress was extremely comfortable. Affordably upscale and immaculately appointed/detailed. Would stay here any time!!

Worst hotel I've ever stayed in
The Renaissance downtown Toledo is by far the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in. Not only do the staff workers not have a clue but they make you pay for parking which is quite a walk away or you can pay for valet parking after you've already paid to stay at the hotel.. not to mention the fact that it's really dirty and nasty and big and isolated and desolate like an old abandoned Mall creepy.. elevator music.. got to have a key card to get in anywhere.. and did I mention the fact that you have to pay to park?

Great hotel. Need a microwave.
I was only supposed to stay for two nights but wound up staying four. It's a great hotel with a great bar on the top floor. My only gripes are no microwave in the room and the bathtub is pretty slippery. I also couldn't connect to the wifi and eventually gave up trying. The valet is a little bit of a joke because the vehicles are basically parked a few feet from where the vehicle is dropped off, but it is helpful and the guys parking the vehicles were very helpful and quick. Overall, I'd stay again but I'll make sure I don't have anything that needs to be reheated. I heard there was a microwave in the lobby but I never saw it.

Disappointing Stay Despite a Great View
Disappointing Stay Despite a Great View
My experience at the Renaissance Hotel Toledo Downtown was far from what I expected. From the start, the front desk host was noticeably unfriendly, making check-in an uncomfortable process. The valet parking situation was confusing and poorly managed, adding unnecessary stress to my arrival. Once in the room, the issues continued — the water pressure in the sink was very low, and the sink drained so slowly it was practically unusable.
The only redeeming quality of my stay was the stunning view of the river, which unfortunately didn’t make up for the overall lackluster experience. I expected much more from a hotel of this brand and price and won’t be returning.

Bad valet service otherwise good
The hotel is very nice. Close to things downtown. Room was good, no refrigerator which I always like to have. Biggest disappointment was the parking- you have to valet and pay $28 which is fine but when we requested our car the next morning after waiting 40 minutes we inquired with the attendant that said we were next to pull up. Waited 10 more minutes and asked again and they found our keys still in the cabinet. No one had ever tried to retrieve the car. Total mess.
