The staff was amazingly friendly and accommodating with every request we had from check-in to check out. We love the view out of our balcony the restaurant prepared a wonderful breakfast that we really enjoyed Carlos at the front desk had wonderful service as well as a girl at the valet desk I don’t remember her name who carried our groceries out of the car and watch them for us. Whenever we talked or saw someone from housekeeping, they were lovely, friendly, and so accommodating everybody on your staff that we came in contact with definitely deserves a shout out for their five star service.

The Grand Naniloa is located just outside the downtown Hilo area and close to the airport. The surrounding area is a mixed bag, some lovely gardens and trees, but then also adjacent to an abandoned hotel. The self parking lot, across the street from the property, is a poorly maintained gravel lot with potholes everywhere! The property is in desperate need of renovation and cleaning. It’s clear the hotel structure and the rooms aren’t well maintained. The room cleanliness was technically fine but not quality you’d hope or expect from a DoubleTree/Hilton property. Everything is showing wear and tear and the sinks and shower didnt really drain well. I wouldn’t not stay here again nor recommend it to others.
