If you're after a 'jungle' experience, this is for you (surprisingly few mosquitos!) The rooms are cute and basic, but comfortable with great vistas of the jungle. Our room was six levels down a mountain, some 405 steps down. We used the inclinator elevator to travel between our room and main pool and restaurant. "This is an absolutely amazing property right in the middle of the wilderness near Ubud. It is a 2-2.5 hour car ride from Denpasar airport, but the spectacular natural surroundings and the peace and serenity are well worth the transit time.
The hotel kindly offered us a free upgrade to their Royal Villa, which is huge and luxurious, with a large patio and outdoor seating. We made almost constant use of the private heated pool and jacuzzi :)
