"Definitely the best decision to change our booking (for 03 families) to Suminoyu Ryokan as the overall stay was a superb one right from the start. "Wonderful ryokan-style hotel. Stayed for 2 nights with half-board, and the meals (dinner and breakfast) were excellent. The staff were attentive and engaging, taking the time to introduce the dinner menu to us. Chose this place for my children's first ski experience. Just a 30-minute drive to Shiga Kogen where all the ski resorts are. The hotel offers both indoor and outdoor onsens. Simply superb for a hot, relaxing

"This is a very beautiful ryokan. It has gone through renovations so the interior is new and modern, but it has also retained the charms of a ryokan with tatami floors, indoor gardens etc. The room is very big and well heated. I wish I had more time to hang around the ryokan! We had a half board, which includes dinner and breakfast. "We enjoyed our three night stay very much, and we're happy that we chose this hotel. The room was a good size and fit our needs. The only complaint was the terrible pillows and fairly hard beds.
