"We stayed in two different rooms. The first room was on the top floor and very small with a slanted ceiling and the bed was a small double bed so we weren’t that comfortable. The second night we stayed in one of the bigger deluxe rooms on the first floor, which was much nicer. The dinner in the restaurant was delicious and the service was excellent. "

"It was a last minute booking for us to escape storm Floris and we're so pleased we found this place. Wonderful views from the room and fantastic food. We had haggis to start (which wasn't on the menu but they did it for us anyway) and Sea Bass and Lamb Shank which were both excellent. "

"The location of this property is excellent--close to the center of town yet somewhat further up the road, with a beautiful view of the town. Staff are kind and helpful and the restaurant is great. "

"I had a comfortable stay at the Tongadale hotel. It's an old building but well maintained. Room and bathroom were compact but comfortable. One thing to be careful about is the bathroom shower. Make sure you figure out how the hot and cold settings work before using the shower. Breakfast was really good and they had a vegan option. "

"Hotel caters for large parties which can compromise access to lounge. Tiny shower/toilet. Access road has large potholes.
Pricing definitely matched to availability rather than hotel standard"

"This hotel was very comfortable and quiet. There is a beautiful view of the water from the dining room. The breakfast is buffet style, which we prefer since one of us likes the full Scottish breakfast and the other likes to pick lighter fare."

"We very much enjoyed the lounge area and talking with other guests. The food was good. The staff mostly were very pleasant. And we very much enjoyed our tasting. Thank you."

"Staying here was a wonderful experience, from the service to the ambiance. It's close to town but peacefully removed from it as well. We loved staying in the cabins and wish we could have stayed longer. The breakfast was also delicious!"
"This was a very personable experience with the owners, Becca and Richard, and staff being very attentive having excellent restaurant management. The food was really good too. Definitely a place we would come back to!"
"Very nicely situated accommodation. We stayed in the “Garden Lodge” which was nicely decorated. Staff at the lobby was excellent and very helpful. The staff in the dining area was even to European standards somewhat tardy (e.g. 20
Mins wait for coffee at breakfast, 50 minutes wait between two course meal). The overall experience was very positive. "
"It was our first time trying out a self catering apartment, and we really enjoyed the two nights there. Clean, spacious, it has almost everything you need, except for a laundry machine and shower gel /shampoo. Hazel (the family dog) was super friendly, and the sunset views were ridiculously gorgeous.
Applecross is a tad remote, so come prepared with all the food supplies you need. "
"Great, comfortable room with a beautiful view across the loch. A pity that the left window wasn’t cleaned and was covered in salt spray.
Restaurant menu was unexciting but our fish and chips were fresh and well cooked."
"Overall, a great lodging in the heart of a quaint community. It was just a short walk from shops, restaurants, and a grocery. (BTW, if you arrive late, like we did shortly after 8, either quickly make to a restaurant–most close their kitchens by 8:30–or do what we did, go down the street toward the grocery near the water's edge and pick up things you can cook). Like all the B&Bs in UK that we stopped at, the fridge is not stocked so you will have to stock it yourself and then probably dump or leave behind what you don't use up. I was disappointed that they only had three forks between the four of us. I hope that they will add more of those in the future, but that was a minor inconvenience, really. It was great that they had a communal clothes dryer in the middle bottom floor of the the apartments. That was not something we found at most UK B&Bs, where you had to use a drying horse or find a line outside to hang your clothes. Oh, one more word of advice: PAY ATTENTION TO THEIR REQUEST THAT YOU NOTIFY THEM AT LEAST 72 HOURS IN ADVANCE OF COMING. After you notify them they will email or text you instruction but it takes them a while to get to their messages. We read of others who were frustrated they couldn't get a hold of them to retrieve a key to get in but I really think those guests missed the request to notify them at least 72 hours beforehand. If you do that I think you will really enjoy your stay there. But if you're staying in Flat 3 the lock box code is... OK, JK"
"Wonderful, friendly welcome and very well trained staff - just the right balance of attention and interaction. Very comfortable with quality surrounding us. Food excellent with a detailed explanation of dishes & wines. Lovely views over the Loch and walks within the grounds. Expedia had failed to pass on our booking to the hotel so we were not expected but staff recognised it was Expedia's failure but even so were apologetic and upgraded our room !"
