Cracking place to stay

I was only there for 1x night, with my dog (Reggie). Made to feel so welcome, options for dinner etc. Also a lovely welcome pack for Reg ❤️ Lovely warm clean room, a real shame I didn’t get a chance to eat as the restaurant and menu looked good.

Brilliant stay. Really friendly staff. Outstanding value for money. Really handy for anyone going to ewood park. Opened the bar for us on arrival and brought the kids sandwiches and crisps. Thoroughly recommend

Sadly our room was very tired. Stained ceiling from obvious large leak. Wallpaper ripped in parts. Bathroom in need of refurb. Couldnt fault breakfast choice⭐️ Once a big favourite of mine but sadly room really put me off I know there were muvh beyter ones.

6/10 Good

On arrival, I was told payment hadn't been received. Payment was taken at time of booking a month in advance however, I still had to supply credit card details whilst they investigated this! Not had any feedback on this but a week later, no funds have been requested so I assume this has been resolved. Bath in room with shower that is supposed to attach to a fixing on the wall however, no shower curtain and water sprayed everywhere so had to be ultra careful on the wet floor. Breakfast service was poor. Not enough tables. Two couples having to wait for tables ~ approx 20 minutes. Then had to ask if we could order as despite staff walking passed the table, no one approached for the order. Customers were constantly asking for ~ tea, orange juice, fruit, butter. Service was painfully slow which could explain having to wait for tables to become free. This is my second visit. The first had same issues but as it's now been taken over, thought it was worth another try but alas, the issues remain the same. I'm looking for a plus......it is peaceful. A very nice location, tucked away. Although the rooms are dated, the character of the public areas is beautiful.

Well situated and great accommodation. Comfy beds and hotel was very warm. Sadly our booking with Expedia had not notified the hotel we were 3 guests. So when our room was changed, the lighting unit around our bed was not working so other than a dim light by mirror the room had no lighting. Night 1 we were given 1 beside lamp and Night 2 were given a standard floor lamp. The room was obviously still very dim. Staff we apologetic and friendly but not ideal.

Good value stay with great staff

We were very positively surprised by the hotel which we thought was good value for the price. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was large, clean and tidy and had tea and coffee making facilities. We were given a front door key to allow us to return after hours which was very helpful. I would like to go back and explore the gin distillery.

This is a very pleasant hotel. The breakfast is excellent with locally sourced produce, served by a really pleasant young lady. There are two drawbacks to the hotel, one with the door closed at 11 PM. There was no entry after this time. The other drawback was poor Wi-Fi service. It kept going down. But my room is comfortable clean with a very clean bathroom. Again just one drawback here, it was very dark room, With a solid wall of black paper and black curtains. But for value and friendliness this hotel could not be beaten

Everything was good. We took our small dog and she was made welcome! The only comlaint we had was that the pillows were hard.

Gin and tonic

The hotel is an attractive looking building and communal space was lovely. The staff were very helpful and I had a lovely meal and the gin was lovely. However the drawback was the room which did not match the rest of the facility. It had black curtains and reminded me of a dungeon. Despite this the room was very clean.
Jacqueline, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

My room was a good size but the mattress had seen better days and needed replacing. I had fish and chips in the restaurant which was £18.95 and I had 9 chips and the fish was about 5 inches long , it was tasty but far too expensive for what you got, I didn’t eat again in the restaurant. The staff were very nice especially the girl at breakfast, just a shame about the other issues. .
