10/10 Exceptional

A great facility and friendly staff. When the Queensgate reconstruction is done it will be a truly prime spot but it’s still convenient to central Huddersfield now.

This is a good hotel, well worth the cost (which was reasonable). The room was good on the whole, but there were a few places where maintenance needed to be done (paint, grout on shower). But the amenities were nice, and the breakfast was excellent. The staff were accommodating and helpful in the extreme.

Great value for money and facilities. Our room smelled a little bit from time to time but otherwise great experience

Lovely hotel. Very very clean. Chic decor and friendly helpful staff. Only downfall was the English cooked breakfast was swimming in oil.

Went to see 2 gigs at Homefirth , 25 mins on the bus stop 5 mins walk from the hotel , quite handy

6/10 Good

Bathroom amenities below average, no power points, badly positioned toilet and damaged toilet seat and generally uncared for and unloved room.

I thought the room lacked certain things , ie no mirror to sit at and put your make-up on or do your hair with a socket close by ie to style your hair , no hairdryer had to ask at reception, found the rooms very dark , just lacked a feminine touch i think , lovely and warm rooms , and staff very helpful and friendly

Like my AirPods in the room and when I contacted the hotel they told me they was not there but when I got on find my it says they are still In Huddersfield so feel like they haven’t bother to look or someone has them x

8/10 Very good

The hotel was centrally located but in an area of Huddersfield town centre regeneration so at the moment the area round about is very quiet & run down with a lot of boarded up shops. Few places to eat nearby. The hotel is beautifully decorated with comfy beds. Our room had a high window we were unable to see out of & unable to open but we were provided with an electric fan (no air-con). The mirror in the bathroom was too high for me (5’3’’). No plug socket was near a mirror for hair drying, straightening etc. (one socket unusable due to huge, but beautiful bedhead). We were fortunate to get a good car parking space & that was a real bonus! The staff on reception were excellent, very pleasant, friendly & extremely helpful, can’t praise them enough. Would book again, preferably in another room.

Please return my deposit

We stayed two nights - we had a front room which was noisy both mornings with outside traffic/people speaking - secondary double glazing would help. The room was nice - bathroom same but no towel rails. Second night we were both awake at 2:30 with repeated water dripping internally above the wardrobe. Reception said they thought the issue had been fixed and offered us to move to another room. I would like to return (family stay in Huddersfield) but not getting my £50 deposit returned since we left on Monday (this is Friday) is worrying. I called direct and they said to call my bank? We paid using Visa - I can't understand why they are holding onto our money.

Brief overnight in the town centre

Decent city centre hotel, next door to a great pub. The room was clean, tidy and spacious. The only slight downside was the bathroom had a radiator directly infront of the toilet which made it tight for space.
Colin, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Disappointing stay

We were staying in a Superior accessible room, but it wasn't. The space to walk around the bed was too small. Only very thin people who can shuffle sideways and breathe in would be able to walk between the bed and the large tv ; minibar was on the floor so out of reach ;only one rail in the toilet and this was no use for those who do not have a functioning left arm. There was NO MIRROR In the bathroom so don't choose this hotel if you like to have a wet shave, apply make up, or do anything else. There was only one shallow glass shelf in the bathroom and this was hanging off the wall dangerously- so nowhere to put toiletries etc.The tap on the miniscule sink was also in need of repair. You could not fill the kettle from this tap as it was impossible to get the kettle into the space between the tap and the sink- probably this is why it was loose as guests tried to get some water. The bedroom lamp was broken. I was asked to leave a £50 deposit on arrival in case I smoked or stole items from the mini bar( nb: no alcohol just chocolate bars and fizzy cans) I was told it would take 4-5 working days for the money to be refunded...I don't appreciate being treated like a criminal on arrival. We asked for the room to be serviced on our 2nd day. We returned to find that there were some additional tea bags but the bed was unmade and the bathroon not cleaned. There were insufficient towels for two guests in the room. The staff were brilliant and so was breakfast. The location is excellent.

We went to a concert in the town hall. The hotel is just across the road so couldn't be more convenient. Breakfast was very good. There are only 6 parking spaces which are quite tight but alternatively there is a big carpark next door. We will definitely return.

Nice location not many spaces for cars rooms need a refurb beds very uncomfortable they are rock hard the pillows are too curtains don’t cover the window so at 4:30 when it’s day light it’s bright in the room wasn’t with £160 for a night

The Stay hotel says it has a restaurant but it does not. The staff was not very helpful in choosing a restaurant. We will not stay at this hotel again.

Stay was fine. Friendly staff and easy check in. Room was basic, clean but unimpressive. Small window so pretty dark. Very average bed and bathroom.

6/10 Good

The staff were very friendly and helpful. My room lock was faulty and didn’t work with the issued keycard but I was given a key instead which was fine. The hotel decor is a modern deco style but has got a bit shabby in places; my room had chipped paint around the built in wardrobe, shower cubicle seal was damaged. Overall it was fine for a night.

Nearly great…..

Overall was better than expected although the window of n my room was small, high up & made the room cell like. The toiletries were good quality, the room looked nice & breakfast was nice reasonable although they had no vegetarian sausages. Although the rooms decor was good overall there were 2 things that let it down, firstly there was nowhere to hang anything as the wardrobe had no hangers and there was no hook behind the door for a coat, secondly & more importantly the bed was terrible resulting in an awful nights sleep.

It was in a great location for our event at Huddersfield Town Hall.

Lovely stay for one night

Very nice hotel with extremely friendly reception desk. The room was very comfortable and had everything I needed. The mini fridge in my room did make loud whirring noises every now and again which disturbed my sleep, and despite one member of staff asking me for my room number at breakfast I wasn't asked if i wanted anything from the hot menu. I worked out that you have to ring the bell to bring someone in to then ask about the menu which is on the continental breakfast bar, rather than having menus on the table. But it was all very delicious!

My room was very clean. The wash room was excellent. I enjoyed my stay
Ngozi, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Parking was quite difficult as very narrow space to get in. Room overlooked a building site and a public car park. Bed was uncomfortable. Breakfast was very disappointing. Not worth the £15 a head.No menus on the table. Eggs were undercooked. Beans not sure what they did with those. Hash brown just crumbled when you cut it. One slice of turkey bacon.so I didn’t eat breakfast. Staff weren’t friendly at all. They didn’t interact with you. Just wanted payment. I chose this hotel over premier inn as a treat. Certainly wasn’t a treat at all.Im not sure if we would stay here again.
