Tucked away on the edge of the hip Haut Marais neighborhood, Hôtel Providence is the kind of place that immediately evokes romantic entanglements, late nights and a sort of bohemian timelessness. All of which requires a perfectly made cocktail to complete the picture.
Luckily, when you check into Providence, you’ll find a room pre-loaded with a minibar that looks like it was conjured up in a 19th-century short story. Marble chopping boards, copper cocktail shakers and measuring jiggers, cut-glass coupes, curved blades and citrus fruits, all atop a vintage personal bar stocked with the strongest liquor for every taste.
Hotel minibars can be underwhelming affairs, all low-humming fridges and overpriced snacks. But the drama and detail of Providence’s minibar stands in sharp contrast, and is typical of Providence as a whole.
The beautiful building was originally a townhouse built in 1854. Its modern incarnation only dates back to 2015, but a sense of local history hangs heavily in the rooms. The decor is best described as “neo-bohemian,” with statement graphic wallpaper, vintage sculptures and flea-market finds filling the space.

Whatever the Parisian weather, this is a warm, enveloping space. Velvet is the most heavily recurring fabric, on the couches, curtains and walls. Warm scents of tuberose and mint fill all the hotel’s low-lit spaces, while a subtle, hip-hop based soundtrack injects a note of musical modernity.
In most hotel rooms, a bar like this would look out of place, but here it sits comfortably among a host of items that perfectly balance utility with beauty: antique sketches of birds; Maison Gramm’s luxury popcorn; claw-foot baths and waffle robes; vintage turntables and vinyl selections. Providence is the first hotel project from Pierre Moussié, the celebrated restaurateur behind the Chez Jeanette and Brasserie Barbès bars, but its success suggests that it won’t be the last. Let’s drink to that.

What guests say
The only hotel to stay at in the 10th arondissement. Gorgeous hotel, cozy beds, yummy food. Amenities were outstanding: The bar even has ice trays in the refrigerator.
Jaime, one-night business trip
We were treated like royalty at Hotel Providence. The room was the most charming room we’d ever stayed in! Will certainly return for a stay. Thanks to the staff for treating us so well.
Wiley, one-night trip
What a gorgeous place in the most central of neighborhoods. The staff were welcoming and warm as was the design aesthetic and details throughout our experience. Can’t wait to go back.
